Frugal foodies is a group for those who are 40-50ish, single (but not required), and hungry for good food at a great price. There are plenty of dining groups but not that many seem to either be in my age or price range, or go for foods that I find accessible. This group is for single, 40ish-50ish men and women, who want to dine with smart, interesting people at the Bay Area’s top, yet affordable restaurants. I’m talking about restaurants with entrees that are typically $15-$25, and have more st …

The Marin Film/Foodies is a group of like-minded men and women who enjoy a wide variety of movies. Whenever possible, we try to match the ethnic cuisine of the film, but otherwise the goal is just to share a good meal and conversation after a movie. We primarily watch movies in Marin County. We regularly patronize the Rafael Film Center, but also visit mainstream cinemas and other local venues. Very rarely we will venture outside Marin and go to a specialty cinema in the East Bay, San Francisc …
If you have a palate for tasty, international dishes and imagine traveling near -- and afar -- for food, come join! Each month we'll explore a cuisine theme of a country or region and share experiences of our travels there -- or desire to visit.
Meet female foodies interested in checking out SF's top restaurants and more. Enjoy delicious meals, great conversation and make new friends. This will mostly be a supper club but may also include some food and/or wine events. I plan to schedule a dinner every other week and most dinners will be on Wednesday nights. Some of the restaurants on my list include Foreign Cinema, Piperade, Poleng Lounge, Salt House, Town Hall, Bacar, Delfina, Zuni Cafe and Sushi Bistro. I am open to suggestions includ …
As a true foodie, AND a weekend-worker, I feel a need for socializing, eating out and cooking with other single gay men that share this passion. If you love to cook, critique and/or talk about food (amongst other subjects), this could be a fun opportunity to get to know like guys. At this point, there are no dues, simply cost of one's meals or sharing in the cost of cooking a meal.
There are lots of dining groups on Meetup; I belong to some. And they're great. But I don't see anything devoted to the goofy, offbeat restaurants and snack shops and events that can make eating a purposefully amusing experience. Tabletops before tablecloths, go cups before goblets, fun before fancy, cute before culinary. I don't want to be a decadent foodie all the time! This isn't intended to be devoted to bargain, cheap-eats places, though most of the things I'm interested in for this gro …
We love listening to interesting stuff. From String Theory to Seventeenth Century Scandal and everything in between. We're foodies at heart, love the New Yorker, dabble with Freakanomics and have been known to indulge in a bit of RadioLab. There is just so much out there and finding it might be quite overwhelming. Also, the cool people making these amazing audio bytes (Audio/Podcast producers) need hints on making their programmes, what their listeners really thought and maybe some inspiration …

As the weather warms there will be private wine tours and tastings in the wine country. We will also dine at some of the most delicious places in Sonoma in the summer. We will have private cooking classes, gourmet picnics, oyster tasting at the oyster farm and much more. This group is about the good life. Good compan …

GO SAILING - It is easy to get aboard with OSMG - there are lots of boats. Event cuts offs are set as close to the sailing event as possible. If at the last minute you can go - call the posted numbers. Won't check email when it gets too close to the "cast off" point. You don't want to miss the boat. Members: If you have an idea …

Being new to SF, I figured creating this group would be a great way to bring together cool people who share the same interest. The plan is to go for a run on Sunday mornings on a path that is central & convenient, and then go to a Brunch. We could try new brunch spots every week, of course returning to the ones we that are simply delicious :) You should join this group if you 1) enjoy running and working out, 2) enjoy food, and 3) enjoy meeting new people. You can join if you are beginner, or if …

This group was started to combine two passions. The love of cooking at home and meeting new people. In hopes of bringing the two together, these Meet n Eat get togethers are held in an intimate San Francisco apartment. If you are a food enthusiast with an additional taste for meeting new people and want to embrace the joy that comes from doing both.
